Kramden Institute

Since the pandemic was declared in March, Kramden has distributed 1,500 computers to families in need (2,080 have been distributed in 2020) and conducted over 60 online workshops! There continues to be a huge need for devices and thankfully many donors have stepped-up to provide Kramden with devices and funding. We miss hosting Geek-A-Thons and the large amount of computers such events produce, but our staff is working hard to keep up with the demand. ... See MoreSee Less

Today, 30 computers will be shipped to residents of Greensboro Housing Authority! This year, Kramden had planned to use funds from the Charter Communications Spectrum Digital Education grant to provide basic computer skills training and laptop computers to 150 seniors across North Carolina. Because of the pandemic and health concerns for this population, we will not be able to offer in-person classes. Instead the remaining participants will receive laptops in the mail and will have a one-on-one phone training with one of our instructors. ... See MoreSee Less
