Marcus Harris Foundation Delivers Devices to Classrooms
One of Kramden’s community partners is the Marcus Harris Foundation. Marcus Harris established the foundation in 2018, growing out of his life-long love of volunteering. Harris wanted to do more to support low-income children living in the Triangle. One of the first programs he set up was Kutz for Kids. This program provides free haircuts to children from underserved families. Kramden began partnering with Kutz for Kids by providing computers for children in the program who did not have a computer in their home.
Kramden has also partnered with the Marcus Harris Foundation to bring computers to children through Neighborfood Express. The foundation’s most popular program, Neighborfood Express delivers healthy groceries to households in food-insecure neighborhoods. Students in the Neighborfood program who lack a home computer also receive a device from Kramden.
Most recently, Kramden refurbished iPads for teachers who participate in Project ClassAct. Teachers in the program make a wish list of supplies they need for their classroom. Fulfilling teacher wish lists helps to ease the financial burden of purchasing supplies for both teachers and students. Kramden is contributing to this effort by providing 12 iPads to the program in 2023. Since January of 2022, Project ClassAct has helped 35 teachers fulfill their classroom needs, raising $55,445 to purchase supplies.
Kramden is proud to partner with the Marcus Harris Foundation on these projects that benefit kids across the Triangle. You can learn more about the foundation and get involved in their work at marcusharrisfoundation.org.
