Technology Educator

Kramden is looking for an energetic and engaging technology instructor to join our team. Kramden has a long history of being an innovative leader in providing digital inclusion programs to communities in need. We are looking for an educator with a passion for technology and a desire to bring equity to all through education and training. This Technology Educator will be a key member of our program team and will teach a wide variety of classes to a client population that ranges from elementary aged students to senior adults. Work for this position will take place primarily at the Kramden office in Durham, NC with some classes taking place at partner locations throughout the Triangle.

  • Full-time; Exempt
  • $48,000 – $52,000 annual salary with opportunity for yearly bonus.
  • Healthcare: Blue Cross Blue Shield PPO with options to add spouse and children. Employer will pay 80% of the premium for employee.

Program Coordinator

The Program Coordinator (PC) is responsible for supporting Kramden’s computer basics program. This program provides training and computers to new or low-skills users. A significant portion of the computer basics program is administered using a train-the-trainer model and the PC will coordinate the training of Community Technology Instructors (CTIs) and oversee the implementation of the program in communities across North Carolina. The PC will work closely with the Program Manager and other members of the Kramden team to ensure that all aspects of the program are delivered effectively.

  • Full-time; Exempt
  • $48,000 – $50,000 annual salary with opportunity for yearly bonus.

Program Assistant – Intern

The goal of the Program Assistant is to strengthen their understanding of how digital inclusion programs can positively impact a community. The intern will be an integral part of the team and will learn valuable skills in program planning and implementation as well as client outreach and support. The intern will assist with day-to-day office functions and will be given additional projects based on need and the skills the intern brings. Work for this position will take place primarily at the Kramden office in Durham, NC.

  • $15 an hour, temporary employee
  • Ineligible for benefits
  • Timeline: Approximately February 20 – May 12

Lead Instructors – Summer Camps

Lead instructors are needed to teach camps and supervise campers in coordination with an assistant plus Kramden education staff. Camps will take place at Kramden Institute in Durham.

Computer Quest (grades 3-5), June 19-24 AND July 24-28: Basic computer hardware.
Let’s Code! Coding Basics (grades 3-5), June 26-30 AND July 31 – August 4: Scratch coding.
Electronics: Motor Motion (grades 6-8), July 17-21 AND August 7-11: Basic electronics and mechanical design.
Digital Creativity (grades 6-8), July 17-21: Digital image editing and simple video production.

  • $20 an hour, temporary employee

Assistant Instructors – Summer Camps

Assistant instructors are needed to provide support and ensure a fun and safe camp experience. Camps will take place at Kramden Institute in Durham.

Assistant instructors are needed for camps on various STEAM (Science, Technology, Engineering, Arts, Math) topics each week of summer from June 14 through August 18. Tell us which weeks you are interested in. A complete list of camps and dates are in the position listing.
