4 Easy Steps to Donate a Computer and Equipment!

If you are within driving distance of Kramden, you can stop by to donate computer equipment. We are in Durham, only a quick drive from the Research Triangle Park, Chapel Hill, Raleigh, Wake Forest, Apex, Cary, Morrisville, Fuquay-Varina, Holly Springs, Angier, Willow Springs, Garner, Smithfield and Carrboro. Because we are a 501(c)(3) charitable organization, your equipment donations are tax-deductible, subject to IRS regulations.

Step 1: Check to see what we accept/don’t accept first.

We accept almost anything that’s computer-related but please check the table at the bottom of the page to make sure. We do NOT accept CRT monitors, scanners or printers. Click here for a list of places that accept CRTs and other equipment.

Step 2: Worried about data on your computer?

Data security is important to Kramden and to our donors. Every hard drive that can be reused goes through our software wiping protocol (additional technical info here). Hard drives that are too old or fail our hardware tests will be physically destroyed through one of our R2-certified recyclers.

Step 3: Print and fill-out an Equipment Donation Receipt

You can fill out an Equipment Donation Receipt before arriving, or you can do it at Kramden; whatever works best for you.

Step 4: Come to Kramden and drop off the equipment!

Donations are accepted during regular business hours. Go to our Contact & Directions page to look at our hours and location. If you’ve got some time, we are happy to give you a tour of our warehouse when you arrive!
