AT&T, Kramden Provide Devices for Western North Carolina

Kramden and long-time partner AT&T provided 160 refurbished laptops and 70 phones to the Land of Sky Regional Council and the High Country Council of Governments to help residents in western North Carolina impacted by Hurricane Helene.

The laptops and phones were refurbished and delivered on November 5 by Kramden Institute. AT&T volunteers activated and set up the phone devices.

The aftermath of Hurricane Helene left many North Carolinians without access to reliable communication devices. Recognizing this urgent need, Kramden Institute has assisted residents in the most severely impacted areas by providing much-needed digital tools and resources.

From Cyndy Yu-Robinson, Kramden Executive Director:

“Kramden recognized the critical need for communication following Hurricane Helene. Thanks to the generous support of partners including AT&T and Builders FirstSource (who provided retired phones) Kramden provided laptops and pre-paid cell phones to ensure that people can contact loved ones coordinate recovery work, and access essential resources. We are humbled to help our Western NC neighbors with immediate needs as well as additional technology and access needs over time.”

“At AT&T, we are committed to supporting our neighbors and communities in western North Carolina impacted by Hurricane Helene. As part of our commitment, we are proud to support Kramden Institute’s efforts to provide residents with digital devices so they have access to essential connectivity that will help them as they recover and rebuild from the storm,” said Trey Rabon, President, AT&T North Carolina.
