Wednesday Evening Work Nights

WHEN: Every Wednesday night from 5:00 pm - 9:00 pm

WHERE: Our Kramden headquarters in Durham.  We are located at 4915 Prospectus Drive, Suite J Durham, NC 27713 (Click on "Contact Us" and "Driving Directions" on our website for directions)

Wednesday Work Nights are dedicated to refurbishing computers for hardworking, underprivileged 3-12th students in the Triangle Community and beyond.  Volunteers ages 12 and older are welcome to attend.  Dinner will be served.  If you plan to eat, please consider contributing a few dollars to help offset the cost of food.  Work nights start at 5 pm and end at 9 pm.  Feel free to contact us with any questions.  We hope to see you there!  Please send an email to This e-mail address is being protected from spambots. Volunteer turn-out on Wednesday nights has recently increased.  Unfortunately our volunteer capacity is 45 and once we reach this number we will not be able to accept more volunteers.  Volunteers will be allowed in on a first come first serve basis.  Due to this, it is important that all volunteers arrive promptly to be guaranteed a spot.

Mini Geek-A-Thon/Award Day - August 21st

When: August 21, 2010

Where: Our Kramden headquarters in Durham.  We are located at 4915 Prospectus Drive, Suite J Durham, NC 27713

What: A day of working together to refurbish PCs for the hardworking students in North Carolina that do not have a home computer. We will need all the help we can get at every "Mini Geek-A-Thon" station from cleaning to final test! You do not have to be a "techie" to get involved with the refurbishing. Our amazing Tech Team will be present to ensure that you feel comfortable at whatever station you may choose to volunteer.

We will also be having a Computer Award Day up front where students and their families will be coming to Kramden to receive their newly refurbished computers. These students were all nominated by their teachers, principals, and/or school counselors and are considered very hardworking students.

Volunteers ages 12 and older are needed for the following shifts:

Shift A: 9:00 AM- 1:00 PM

Shift B: 1:00 PM- 5:00 PM

Weekday Volunteering

When: Weekdays 10:00 am - 4:00 pm

Where: Kramden Institute - 4915 Prospectus Drive, Suite J, Durham, NC 27713

What: During the weekday Kramden welcomes experienced volunteers.  These volunteers refurbish computers or help with special projects.  Kramden staff is not regularly available to give direction and assist during the work week so the following requirements must be fulfilled.

• The volunteer must log at least 20 hours during scheduled events (Wednesday Work Nights/MGATs) before they can volunteer during the weekday.
• Volunteers must be 16 years-old or older.
